We had a very nice place with a view of the kitchen. We were therefore able to watch the chefs prepare. Very nice ambience. All of the food we ordered was delicious. The staff is very nice. Definitely worth a visit.

Been there several times. Ambience is very pleasant. The food was usually good, but also had cases where it tasted more like a ready-made meal. Therefore only 3 stars.

The food there is well presented, but it is not necessarily warm because the plates are not preheated, which is why my noodles were quite cold. Furthermore, these were rather unseasoned. We were not offered a menu beforehand as there are QR code scanners on the tables. (I personally find it very unpleasant to sit at the table with a mobile phone to look at the menu there, and it is very fuzzy and difficult to read here). When asked, we were brought two menus for four people. The last reason I only gave three stars is that we weren't offered any other drinks. The staff should take better care of it. Conclusion: I don't necessarily have to visit this restaurant again, as there are clearly at least equal ones with better quality.

Very competent and friendly service who can also make recommendations. The drinks and the food were prepared very quickly and freshly. The food was delicious. We recommend reserving a place one day in advance.

The food wasn't the best. Tomato sauce not even made yourself. Too bad. The place is nicely done and the service is very, very good. Invest a little more in the kitchen and the shop will definitely get 5 stars.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. The location is nice, but that’s all this place has going for it. Staff is rude.

We spent a nice day in Trier and wanted to end the day with culinary Italian, so we decided on this restaurant. Well centrally located with a large terrace. But we decided to eat inside. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a nice ambience and you feel like you are in Italy in this atmosphere! We got a seat near the drinks counter, so that we had a good view of the open kitchen, and were able to look over the shoulder of the pizza maker to see how he knows his craft. Due to the coronavirus, there is unfortunately no paper menu. There is a QR code on the tables and the waitress kindly explained everything to us, how it works. Simply scan the QR code and the menu will appear directly on the display. "BUT" there is one point of criticism from us: Unfortunately, if you enlarge the menu, it becomes blurred. At first I thought it was due to my Samsung S9 smartphone, but no, my girlfriend also had the same problem with her Huawei P30. My recommendation, simply scan the menu again in high resolution, and then the problem should be eliminated! We then opted for a pasta dish (Aglio e Olio with fried chicken strips) and a classic Margherita pizza. The ordered drinks (1 bottle of mineral water + 1x homemade lemonade) were delivered within a very short time and the ordered dishes, which were very busy, were also served relatively quickly. At this point I would like to praise the service. The service was very attentive and friendly at all times. In terms of taste, there isn't much to complain about. The "NOODLE DISH" was very tasty and seasoned to the point. With the pasta, I would have only wished that a few small pizza rolls or small slices of Italian bread had been added, then it would be perfect for me. The "PIZZA" is big and the dough is nice and thin and very slightly crispy, that's how a pizza should be. The only thing I would have to complain about with the pizza is the tomato sauce, it could have been more sweet and fruity for my taste! (In terms of taste, I mean, like the Pomodori Pelati taste close to the volcano) Finally, we each treated ourselves to a cappuccino, which is very tasty in taste, I can only recommend it! Price-performance ratio is completely okay in this restaurant! We'd love to come back on occasion.

Great drinks and delicious pizza in a modern atmosphere. There are also plenty of vegetarian and vegan dishes and whole grain dough. The catering was a bit slow, but the restaurant outside was also well attended.

After a very hot stroll through town, the ideal place to fortify yourself on the square. Fast, friendly and good and plentiful food, these were the strengths of our visit. We'd love to come back!

Very tasty food & homemade lemonade, fast service, and a nice terrace.

I don't get why this place is so high up. Food is below average and not so cheap. Service is very slow when full. Tried seafood apetizer, tasted like frozen stuff drowned in oil. Caprese for my man tasted better. Then I had a pasta with pig meat, mushroom sauce and bacon. Expected an explosion of flavours, but it was really like doing a quick tasteless dinner out of the can. Not worth the money at all

Waited an hour for food, asked several times what was going on, every waitress wanted to inquire, but no one came back. Only the umpteenth time were we told that we had been forgotten. Service apologized. However, good service could have solved the problem better and faster.

This review probably won’t make any difference or change anything, but I would like to share our experience here. Donna Mia was one of our favorite restaurants in Trier. We have been coming here for many years. The service was impeccable. Food was delicious, and came in large and happy portions. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We loved it there. We enjoyed going with our friends and family and we always left the restaurant full and happy. The last few times we went there we had noticed something was not right. The food didn’t taste the same. The standard was lower and portions were much smaller. It took longer for food to get to our table. I thought I was the only person thinking about this and our friends said the same thing. My wife ordered the pumpkin soup and she had to tell the wait stuff that the soup was only a few spoons when it used to be at least double the portions. At the end the wait staff have told us that the boss had cut the down the portions drastically but I was wondering why they didn’t cut the prices? We fortunately have found our new favorite restaurant in Trier and have no intention of coming back to Donna Mia.
